    • method wrong liao.

when u find biting point, as u release clutch u mus depress the acclerator.

gently depress until clutch fully released or preferred speed obtained.

    • well i suspect u nvr reach optimal speed before releasing clutch fully thus incurring engine brake n engine stall.

    • You must listen to the sound of the engine too.

Don't just do: Right foot down, left foot up, mechanically.

Listen, feel, and co-ordinate your accelerator and clutch.

Remember the clutch moves the vehicle.

      The accelerator gives power.

    • oh ya one more thing tt i jus remembered.

sometimes the fooking car / truck has a problem w the hydraulic clutch, the pump will 'leak' and thus giving you a false biting point or unpredictable biting points. this will also cause you to stall when driving off.

the trick around it is to pump the clutch a few times before you actually engage gear

When its vibrating too much thats when you need to put in a lil' more gas.

Like someone here mentioned; you need to get a feel of it. Then its more natural.

    • I will be having my 1st practical lesson tomorrow. I'm afraid I'll stall the engine as well, but I guess its normal for 1st timers right? =D

I still stall on my 10th lesson =D, because I forgot to clutch in when I was braking at the Ubi road driving down to Braddell. Damn traffic jam. Thankfully I don't stall in the middle of a turn or in the middle of a road. Today got driving, so happy =)

    • Will the instructor teach you all these stuff such as, steps to take when accelerating etc for the 1st lesson? because seriously I've forgotten a few of my theories, road manners are still in my head so don't worry..

I don't know, after so long, I think I naturally grasped it. I do not slowly move to half clutch. I press accelerator and my feet knows where the biting point is(Should be the case with more experienced drivers)

If you do not accelerate after hitting biting point, your car will jerk and might die if you do not step the accelerator abit more.
