Let's see... you're "Strategic Tutor", and you made the exact same
post (albeit on a different forum) as WeeWee did about Maths
Olympiad... why? (just curious)

Unless it is WeeWee who is "Strategic Tutor"? But Strategic
Tuition is yours (Eagle's). So what's this about? (just
curious).

Seriously, we all know WeeWee and Eagle are two different (both
distinguished, reputable) persons of achievement. Don't get the
wrong idea. No accusations whatsoever here. It's just that it's
humourous to notice two exact same posts made (on maths olympiad).
So I'm just curious. Don't angry hor (WeeWee and Eagle).

PSLE results will be out on 20/11 replied by Cubepolygon @ Sat, 22 Nov 2008 21:30:38 +0800

PSLE is all
about hard and rigorous work. When I was in P4 my results weren't
that great but I worked hard with the support of my family and
tutors and got a good score last year.

Referring to the second post on the first page:

The maximum for T-Score is not 300. Theoretically, if we let T(x)
be the function which gives the T-Score for an arbitrary student x,
the range of T(x) is $10 \leq T(x) \geq +\infty$. (The code within
the dollar signs is in LaTeX; type it into http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/LaTeX/AoPS_L_TeXer.php without
the dollar signs to view the inequality).

$T=10+50(\frac{X-Y}{Z}$

if Z tends to 0, then T tends to infinity; if Z tends to infinity,
T tends to 10.

No matter how bad a student is in his/her studies, he/she can't get
a score below 10. Amazing!

Getting above 250 is exceptional for me already.

A pity my score is not even a whisk near it. But I long
casted that aside.

So long you work hard... you can still succeed.

Why does a red object appear red? Because it reflects red light
right? But what determines that it reflects red light and absorbs
all the rest of the visible spectrum?

that's the property of the material, as it can absorb the rest
of the colour.

black stuff get hotter faster because they absopt more... and
vice versa. you writing thesis or something?

Don't know if this is correct but:

We all know that the individual electrons in an atom need
certain levels of energy before increasing its energy level
state.

The amount of energy required is peculiar to each jump in energy
level.

Consequently when photons collide with the electrons (light
shines onto the atom), only photons of certain energy levels will
be absorbed by the electrons. The others will merely collide and
bounce away.

So the colour you'll see is dependant on what photons are not
absorbed by the electrons.

Also related: The photoelectric effect.
