hey guys, i'm finally going to put an end to my "agony" of having crooked teeth once and for all after my promos...
my questions:
Is it very painful?
Is it true that you will have to be enslaved to bowls of porridge for months?
Can I attend OBS within the first month of putting on braces?
damn worried.

of coz it is painful la, u may feel uncomfortable for like 1mth as your mouth suddenly got something inside, frequent ulcer may grow too due to the rubbing of braces and the mouth skin.
i took around 5 days to continue my normal eating lifestyle but still eat quite slow like around 15mins for a plate of chicken rice. first few days of putting braces u will prefer eating oatmeal for breakfast or maybe bread cut into small pieces to eat. then for lunch&dinner, eat porridge with 2 eggs mixed with it so get enough nutrient. Thats whats my meal for the 5 days.
u put braces sure can go obs one leh, i put my braces 1 mth before army leh, u say leh.

the process of putting the braces on aint pain actually. it's basically just attaching the metal to each tooth then linking them all with a wire. it might take a while for you to feel the tension by the wire. basically like what forum_dude said, it's the friction b/w the metal and gums whatnot, that hurts la. you can put a certain wax on the bracket to avoid ulcers, the dentist would give u some. eating would be kinda slower i suppose. not used to it and everything. and beware, stuff do really get stuck sometimes. must get used to rinse and checking b4 u talk or else damn paiseh one. porridge for many days a bit exaggerating la. depends on u, if u can tolerate the discomfort lo. i've gone for shitloads of camps and hikes just about weeks after braces, doesnt affect la.

Is not like what people says painful, is more to sore than pain. Well personal view though. I find it so sore when I first put braces that I feel like taking all out.
And is not really true that you will be enslaved to bowls of porridge for months. First few days yes, subsequently you can slowly take normal meals again.
And yes you still can attend OBS within the first month of putting braces.
I wore my braces when I attend OBS some three years ago or so.

its just porridge for one or two days for people, but i rmb that time i put i already eating quite hard stuff. hahahah! it pay to be beautiful, so why scare of pain if you want to have beautiful teeth? definately worth it!
and nonsense, putting the braces not pain at all. they are just sticking the thing onto yr teeth how will it be painful? its tightening of the wire that might hurt alil bit!
